Note: This is unfortunately a little kludgy. If you control the construction site, you have artillery if you don't, you don't. Instead of giving each side its own artillery, I placed only one set, and attached it to one of the control points. This base's importance comes from its artillery spawns. In the second shot, you're looking from the opposite angle, back toward the bridge: In the first shot, you're looking to the left off that bridge you saw before. Next we see two shots, from opposite angles, of the “construction site,” another control point. Now we're moving across the bridge you see above. You can go over the bridge that you see on the left you can go through the storage building to the right of the bridge or, you can go down the waterfront (which you can't see from here). There are three ways out of the industrial area that we've seen so far. This next shot looks from the hilltop base toward the rest of the map. Just as you need to hold the docks if you want boats, you have to hold the hilltop if you want armor. This is the only base that provides any armor.

First from above, then from below:Īnd behind it, there's a small motor pool with a tank and an APC: Now here's a look at the other “upper deck” base, “hilltop,” which was in the background of the earlier shot. The rooftop base that we just saw is off to the right, and the other base is directly ahead, in the background: This time we see the midpoint between the two bases. Next we have another shot of the “upper deck” area. This base should provide a good foothold on the industrial area, and provides decent (I think) sniping positions on the “docks” base and the airfield base, which we'll see later. It's on top of one of the factory buildings: The first of the "upper deck" bases (on the right-hand side of the pictures above) can be seen below. As we'll see in a minute, there are two bases at this elevation, so I'm hoping that there will be some running battles on the rooftop areas. The highlighted area is what I call the “upper deck.” The rooftops of all these buildings are more or less at the same level, and you can move from one to the other without going down to the ground. Now here is a closer shot of the industrial buildings, with a second version in which an area has been highlighted: I hope that this encourages people to try to capture a base and hold it, rather than just hopping from base to base. I've tried to make several of the bases have some unique benefit in this way. This base has four boat spawns, and it's the only place to get boats. Here's a closer look at the “docks” base:Ī number of the important parts of the map are near water, so boats should be useful – I'm hoping that they serve as more than just the disposable transportation that they usually are. In the foreground is one of the bases, called, appropriately enough, “the docks.” Beyond the shoreline is the industrial area itself. Let's start with a view of the industrial portion of the map, as seen from the water: The map is primarily oriented toward infantry. The map is called “Dahar Waterfront.” As the name implies, it's set in a (fictional) middle eastern coastal town. In case anyone's interested, I thought I'd post a little guided tour. I've been working on a new map for a while, and I'm nearing the point where it will be ready for some beta testing.
